Comfort #18Lang/Baumann

Swiss visual artists, Sabina Lang and Daniel Baumann, offer a monumental work which, by its dimensions, suggests a reinterpretation of the architecture of the Bonlieu facade. The rhythm and shape of the eight white inflatable tubes overhanging the external passageway, respond to the pillar architecture of the building and reinterpret it in a new lightness. a new face. Over the entire length of the theater’s facade, huge “white tubes” filled with air are arranged like fragments of frames, side by side. This enormous tubular installation, about 12 meters high, forms a parasitic foreign body that contrasts with the building. Even disregarding its symmetry and its functions, this strange presence, both airy and imposing, intrigues in the face of Bonlieu’s multitude of elusive volumes. Another question of perspective!
