To be discovered as part of the festival, La Friche des rails is a playful and poetic scenographic work installed on the abandoned railway complex in the Trois Fontaines district in Annecy.

To create this installation, the Bruit du frigo collective was inspired by the strong identity of the site. A collection of unusual wagons unfolds along imaginary railway tracks through the wild vegetation of the site. These wooden platforms offer multiple uses: picnics, games, deckchairs, bleachers, stages, etc. They allow you to get together with children, family and friends, and enjoy festive and cultural events.
Graphic interventions, coordinated by the Annecy collective Art by friends, energize the entire installation: the wagons and the floors offer many supports to the imagination of the Swiss artist Rylsee. The artist Sophie Weidler-Bauchez intervenes on the ground with the creation of an imposing map of the district.

This project is supported by elected officials of the New Commune of Annecy as part of a public investment program initiating the urban renewal of this district. Based on this installation and its uses, the City of Annecy is initiating a process of consultation with the population and citizen participation which will support the urban project for the redevelopment of the district over the next three years.

The association of the “know-how” of Annecy paysages and the urban renewal projects of the City of Annecy is a first and opens up new forms of involvement of populations in the transformations of the city. She places art and cultural sensitivity at the center of this process.

The urban creation collective Bruit du frigo was created in 1997. Based in Bordeaux (France), it brings together architects, artists, urban planners, mediators and builders. Clearers of spaces, activators of uses and generators of urbanity, they practice an offbeat, playful and poetic approach. At the crossroads between art, territory and population, their approach aims to promote the transition towards sustainable, shared and welcoming urban planning.
